Scott and Ashley chose a 10am ceremony at beautiful Sandstone Point Hotel in March with the lovely Kate as their coordinator. I was already booked for an afternoon ceremony on this day, so when they told me they were having a morning ceremony, I was stoked!
Scott and Ashley’s wedding, in many ways, was quite different to others. This was my last ceremony in the little chapel at Sandstone Point Hotel so it will hold extra special memories for me.

The Ceremony
Ashley’s 8 year old daughter, Matilda, surprised them during the ceremony with a gorgeous reading and seriously, everyone had a little tear in their eye. She spoke absolutely beautifully!

The Vows
We all know how nerve-wracking personal vows can be. While most people are able to push through the nerves, there are some people who are just not able to do that. I often tell my couples my own elopement story, no personal vows for me, because I feel I’d be overcome with emotion and wouldn’t get through it. So, I’m always going to be on your side. Giving you the confidence and some reassurance to help you get through your personal vows, but always willing to step in if you need me to. And on this day, I took over for Scott who was overcome with emotion. That’s the amazing thing about weddings now, your options are limitless.

The speeches
Scott and Ashley had a small cocktail reception on the Poinciana deck after the ceremony and because of this, the team at Sandstone Point Weddings suggested we look after speeches during the ceremony. We chose to incorporate speeches after Scott and Ashley had signed their paperwork, before I introduced them as the newlyweds. This turned out to be a great idea as we still had a captive audience.

After about half a dozen speeches from loved ones, I introduced Mr and Mrs Mifsud and sent them down the aisle to their happy ever after with Iko Iko (my bestie) (with no judgement from me whatsoever, ok, maybe a little).
Seriously, days like this are really the best! Thank you Ashley, Scott, Scarlett and Matilda for trusting me with your most important day. From my very first meeting with these guys, we had an instant connection. And no, the gorgeous grazing platters they’d put together for our catch ups had absolutely nothing to do with this, I swear! We chatted like we were old friends, and had so many laughs during our catch ups.
